Formulate comprehensive assessments, using a variety of diagnostic classification systems
During the Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis I, we had assignments in every module where we would watch videos of simulated therapy sessions and have to use critical thinking and our social work knowledge of diagnostics to determine what each person’s diagnosis was and rationalize how we came to that conclusion. Each of those was great practice for the final case study assignment where we had to choose between a few different cases. then list their diagnosis and rationalization for it, as well as their differential diagnoses and rationalization for not selection those, physical symptoms of their diagnosis, and the cultural formulation. These assignments has used and helped me to grow my social work value of competence. I used the cognitive processes of applying and understanding and the affective process of responding. The theoretical framework used was the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
