Engage with systems utilizing evidence-based practice strategies<\/span><\/h3>\n

Using the social work skills<\/strong> of engagement<\/strong> and relationship building<\/strong>, I planned<\/strong>, organized<\/strong>, and carried out a meet <\/span>and greet at the housing site that I am doing my practicum at.\u00a0 I took several aspects into consideration when planning.\u00a0 When making the fliers, I researched to make sure that the font, size, and layout would be appropriate for the population at the site, which is primarily senior citizens.\u00a0 I also included food for the event, which was based off of those that have been working with this demographic at <\/span>this location for years mentioning that they love food and if food is involved then more people will come.\u00a0 At the event itself, using a person-centered approach<\/strong>, myself as well as the other caseworker spent time introducing ourselves to the residents that have not met us yet, as well as spending time <\/span>talking to the residents and listening to any concerns and ideas that they had.\u00a0 I used several social work values<\/strong> in this event, including the respect and dignity of individuals<\/strong>, competence<\/strong>, and the importance of human relationships<\/strong>.\u00a0 The cognitive processes<\/strong> used were creating and <\/strong>applying <\/strong>and the affective process<\/strong> used was receiving.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
