{"id":393,"date":"2024-02-01T01:30:49","date_gmt":"2024-02-01T01:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swpro.org\/amymejias\/?page_id=393"},"modified":"2024-07-27T21:16:43","modified_gmt":"2024-07-27T21:16:43","slug":"course-evidence-for-practice-behavior-2-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/swpro.org\/amymejias\/competencies\/competency-2-advance-human-rights-and-social-racial-economic-and-environmental-justice\/course-evidence-for-practice-behavior-2-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Course Evidence for Practice Behavior 2.2"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;font-size: 10pt\">Implement culturally-informed strategies with diverse populations<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In Advanced Clinical Practice: Individuals and Families, we had a project with a partner to create a case conceptualization for an imaginary client.\u00a0 This assignment very much needed to be focused on cultural factors and diversity and we had to use the social work <strong>knowledge<\/strong> of <strong>cultural competence<\/strong>.\u00a0 The whole project was culturally informed but particularly we had to incorporate culturally informed treatment strategies and focused on the social work <strong>value<\/strong> of <strong>dignity and the worth of the person<\/strong>.\u00a0 In coming up with a treatment plan for this individual, we had to use the <strong>cognitive processes<\/strong> of <strong>understanding<\/strong> and <strong>applying<\/strong> to come up with a treatment that can also implement this clients cultural background and used the <strong>affective process<\/strong> of <strong>valuing<\/strong> in recognizing and respecting this clients diversity of values and practices within her cultural community.
