\u00a0Engage Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) in Practice<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Advanced practicing social workers are to understand the differences in culture and race. As social workers, we should rise to the challenge of different obstacles on a daily basis because of their background and identity. Our goal is to advocate and create an environment where all humans are to feel included and equal. Advanced practicing social workers can demonstrate justice and knowledge of diversity in any level of Micro, Mezzo, and Macro social work by designing and implementing strategies that promote diversity and justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Practice behaviors:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

3.1 – Demonstrate leadership in advocating for human rights, social, economic and environmental justice<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Field Evidence:<\/strong> To advocate for human rights, social, economic, and environmental justice, I took a leadership role by writing an Inmate Informational Report, or a “<\/span>Positive.<\/a><\/span>” This report highlights positive behavior displayed by an incarcerated individual. The individual I documented had been actively participating in groups, asked thought provoking questions to facilitators and peers, and has openly voiced how appreciative he is with how much he has learned. This documentation of the individual’s role-model-like behavior helps contradict the negative stereotypes associated with incarcerated individuals. This report serves as evidence of rehabilitation and supports the individual’s case for time allowance (sooner court release date). The Positive also helps in showing the Department of Corrections and Supervision that the incarcerated individual is showing signs of their ability to successfully reintegration into society and have their right to be free returned.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3.2 – Design and implement social action strategies that demonstrate social, racial, economic; and environmental justice<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Course Evidence:<\/strong> In SOCW 618, Advanced Administrative Practice: Administration\/Leadership, I worked with my peers to create a<\/span> New Organization Proposal Plan<\/a><\/span> with a target population being low income families. The organization is called Nourish: Nutrition In Motion and its mission is to empower families with the knowledge and resources to make informed choices about their health, focusing on the importance of good nutrition and healthy eating habits. By advocating for equal access to education and resources, our plan sought to ensure that all families with young children had the necessary tools to make informed food choices, prepare nutritious meals, and improve their overall health and well-being. Through this initiative, we aimed to address social, racial, economic, and environmental injustices, promoting equity and well-being within our community.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
