An opportunity that I was able to participate in was helping a friend take her miniature horse to several assisted living facilities in the Collegedale area. We took the miniature horse into the residents rooms and in the common areas and let the residents pet and spend time with the miniature horse. The miniature horse even wore little tennis shoes so she would not slip on the floor. The residents were excited to get to meet and pet the little pony and brought out books to read to her. Seeing their smiles and the joy that this experience gave to them was so rewarding.
