Welcome

My name is Brianna Cheever, and I was born and raised in Dalton, GA. I recently graduated with my Master of Social Work (MSW) with an emphasis in Mental Health at Southern Adventist University in December 2020. I began my college career working towards a nursing degree with an emphasis in outdoor emergency services, but along the way my path turned to social work. Ever since I can remember I have had an affinity to animals and a keen ability to recognize and understand people’s deeper emotions. My combined passion for mental health, animals, mission trips, travel, the outdoors, and helping others merged in the field of social work, and I have loved growing into the social worker I am today!

Mission Statement:

As an advanced social work practitioner, it is my mission to serve others by empowering them to find and achieve their goals in life, and to encourage them each step of the way

Professional Goals:

As a new professional in the workplace, there are multiple routes within social work that I am interested in pursuing. I am open to the vast possibilities that my professional career could take and I am allowing God to lead me in the direction I should pursue. Below are a few professional goals that I am interested in:

  • To obtain my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification
  • To obtain certification in Animal-Assisted Therapy and Natural Lifemanship
  • To provide therapy and resources to those suffering with mental/developmental disabilities and/or veterans
  • To utilize my knowledge, networking resources, and vast experiences to help start up non-profit organizations
  • To be involved in disaster relief and community development in third-world countries
