As a social worker, it is my priority to uphold ethical and professional values at the foundation of all that I do. In the variety of roles that I may assume as a social worker, I will seek to regulate my personal and professional values appropriately. I will present myself in a professional manner by the way I act, dress, and communicate. In practice, I will utilize technology to ethically further work done on behalf of those I am serving. In order to continue to grow and develop as a professional, I will take the initiative to seek consultation and think critically about the counsel I receive. By proactively establishing healthy boundaries to protect professional, ethical, and personal values, I will be better able to safely serve.<\/p>\n

Practice Behaviors<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Make ethical decisions by applying the standards of the NASW Code of Ethics, relevant laws and regulations, models for ethical decision-making, ethical conduct of research, and additional codes of ethics as appropriate to context.<\/li>\n
  2. Use reflection and self-regulation to manage personal values and maintain professionalism in practice situations.<\/li>\n
  3. Demonstrate professional demeanor in behavior; appearance; and oral, written, and electronic communication.<\/li>\n
  4. Use technology ethically and appropriately to facilitate practice outcomes.<\/li>\n
  5. Use supervision and consultation to guide professional judgment and behavior.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    Evidences<\/h6>\n

    Class:\u00a0<\/strong>I showed professional behaviors by presenting on Campus Research Day. I utilized this\u00a0PowerPoint<\/a>\u00a0to present research from a literature review that I had completed for SOCW 312 HBSE II. The following practice behaviors were demonstrated:\u00a01.3 & 1.4.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Class:\u00a0<\/strong>In writing my\u00a0Integration of Faith and Practice Paper Part 1<\/a>, I had to engage in self-awareness regarding my spirituality. By reflecting on my worldview, I am better able to manage my personal values in practice situations. The following practice behavior was demonstrated:\u00a01.2<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Field:<\/strong> The \u00a0Competency 1 Learning Plan and Evaluation<\/a>\u00a0exhibits that I have displayed professionalism during my 40-hour junior practicum at Bethel Bible Village. Since the learning plan and evaluation focus on professionalism, the following practice behaviors were demonstrated: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, & 1.5.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Field:\u00a0<\/strong>In this journal entry<\/a>, I discussed ethical and professional behavior. I also share an experience where I had to regulate my personal values and refrain from projecting them on a client. My field instructor’s response<\/a> further shows how I utilize supervision. The following practice behaviors were demonstrated: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, & 1.5.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
