Social workers realize the implications of federal, state, and local policy on access to resources. Policy can inhibit or promote social justice at every level. They possess a knowledge of the history and structure of policies and how they affect access to services for those in need of them. Social workers know how to utilize policy in the practice setting and advocate for policies that benefit the populations they are serving on a micro, mezzo, and macro level. Social workers also realize the different dynamics, including cultural, economic, global, and social, that can impact the formation of social policies. As professionals, social workers are equipped with and understanding of forming, analyzing, implementing, and evaluating policy.<\/p>\n
Practice Behaviors<\/strong><\/p>\n Class: <\/strong>In order to encourage voting I presented this PowerPoint<\/a> to a group of students on campus with whom I had previously built rapport. I then reflected on this experience and the importance of voting in a Paper<\/a> on voter engagement for SOCW 434 SWIP.
