Career & Self-Care Plans

1 Year Plan

This year I will be serving as a School Social Worker at Calhoun City High School in Calhoun, GA for the 2023-2024 school year. I plan on implementing a newcomer support group (Somos Unidos) and creating a stronger relationship with my students as a Sources of Strength Advisor.

5 Year Plan

In five years, I can easily envision myself still serving students in a public school setting. By this time, I hope to be enrolled in a DSW program and continue to be lifelong learner. For me, being a well-rounded mentor means to give back to the community that helped you. I wish to be a mentor to the new generation of social workers and build my network of professionals.

10 Year Plan

In ten years, I will be established in my career, with a DSW and service as the director of student services. I will also serve as motivational speaker for young social workers experiencing imposter syndrome. I’d like to be a guest speaker on several platforms to talk about the importance of finding the confidence within yourself and standing up for what you believe in.

Self-Care Plan

In order to best serve my students I must incorporate self-care into my daily routine. Being active has become my way of practicing mindfulness and good health. Over the past 2 years I have made it my mission to become the most strongest version of myself. I have taken on strength training and recently have joined a spin class.

Social workers need their own positive support team! My boyfriend has always been there for me and we have always reminded each other of enjoying the little things in life. Cooking together and exploring new cuisine has been a way for us to bond and relief our stress. Although I am the better cook.. spending time together is the best way to recharge.
