My Story:

My name is Karissa Goodman and I am from the sunny state of Florida. I am currently working on my MSW at Southern Adventist University. I received my BSW from Southern in May of 2019. The past five years have been an exciting journey from the beginning, and I would not trade this experience for anything. Social work has not only become my career but my passion as well. I am so excited and honored to be working in a field that I have also fallen in love with.

Mission Statement:

I will strive to encourage and equip others to live the lives they deserve, even when they have been told they will not succeed.

Professional Goals:

• Become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• In everything I do, meet individuals where they are at and listen when there is nothing else I can do.
• Advocate for and work with individuals with disabilities, the homeless, survivors of trauma, and those who are not receiving the services they deserve.
• Become a director of a program that meets a need and serves my community.
• Earn my American Sign Language Interpreter’s Certification
