Social workers value and are educated on evidence-based interventions that will achieve and aid the goals of the clients they are working with. Theories of human behavior and the social environment are understood by social workers who use these to critically evaluate and apply this knowledge to properly intervene with clients. Social workers recognize and use evidence-based interventions to achieve the goals of the client, as well as value working together and the importance of inter-professional relationships. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>PRACTICE BEHAVIORS:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366\"><b>8A &#8211; Implement clinical evidence-based interventions with individuals, families, and\/or groups.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Academic Evidence:\u00a0<\/strong>Below you will find a video of a group session where I implemented Cognitive\u00a0Behavioral Therapy within a group setting. Due to COVID-19, I gained experience doing Telehealth sessions from this. During the session, I used evidence-based strategies and exercises to help these four ladies understand how they view themselves and to begin building their own identity.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Final Group Video\" width=\"810\" height=\"456\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/J40LnBaP1WQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Field Evidence:<\/strong>\u00a0Within my caseload at the Chattanooga Autism Center, I had the opportunity to work with some amazing kids and adults. During my second semester, I was able to implement Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with my clients. Here are a few examples of CBT activities I would do with them:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swpro.org\/kgoodman\/files\/2020\/06\/Morning-Routine-Chart.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Morning Routine Chart<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/swpro.org\/kgoodman\/files\/2020\/06\/Behavior-Chart.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Behavior Chart<\/a>, <\/strong>and a\u00a0\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swpro.org\/kgoodman\/files\/2020\/06\/5-point-scale-pt-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">5 point scale<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366\"><b>8B &#8211; Integrate macro-level evidence-based strategies with organizations and\/or communities.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Academic Evidence:\u00a0<\/strong>During my second Advance Administration class, I worked with a group on an\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swpro.org\/kgoodman\/files\/2020\/06\/GForce_BeyondBars.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">organizational proposal<\/a> <\/strong>that sought to integrate evidence-based strategies within the Chattanooga community. This organization that we created was focused on working with individuals and their families during and after a prison sentence. This proposal discusses different strategies on how the organization would operate and how these ideas would be implemented into the community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Field Evidence:\u00a0<\/strong>While at the Chattanooga Autism Center, I was asked to be the speaker coordinator for their annual\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swpro.org\/kgoodman\/files\/2020\/06\/Screen-Shot-2020-06-29-at-12.59.11-PM.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Autism Conference<\/a><\/strong>. The purpose of this conference is to not only raise awareness about autism, but also provide resources and evidence-based practices to parents, schools, healthcare professionals, and community members. Unfortunately, COVID-19 postponed this event to the fall when I will no longer be an intern there. Before it was rescheduled, I worked on contacting and organizing guest speakers for this event (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swpro.org\/kgoodman\/files\/2020\/06\/Conference-Agenda-2020-Draft4.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Conference Agenda 2020<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Intervention with Individuals, Families, Groups, Organizations, and Communities.
