A social worker can make a greater change for helping people by engaging in policy practice. As a social worker, I will apply policy practices on the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. I will adhere to the Code of Ethics and implement the policies that pertain to individuals and families. When leading a therapy group session, I will follow the standards and regulations. I will advocate for policy change that affects the population I serve. Furthermore, I will continue to educate myself on new or revisions of local, state, and federal policies.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

5A – Advocate with and inform stakeholders to impact policy change<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Field Evidence:<\/strong> I advocated with stakeholders on addressing the concern of behavior classroom challenges for primary Sabbath School teachers at Collegedale SDA Church. I created a survey for teachers to provide their experiences on issues within the classroom. With the survey, I created a workshop presentation on behavior modification for primary Sabbath School class teachers. Through the theory of operant conditioning, I provided interventions to apply in the classroom. 5B – Develop and implement a policy and\/or advocacy plan<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Course Evidence:<\/strong> In my Advanced Social Policy class, my classmates and I developed a policy proposal on revising the Child Abuse\/Neglect Intake Assessment Policy and Procedures Manual. The proposal recommends investigators to spend more time investing in reported cases of child abuse\/neglect before screening out. (Cognitive level: synthesis).
