“The test of our progress is not whether we add to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Mission Statement:

My mission is to bring joy and hope to everyone I interact with both clients and constituents. It is my utmost responsibility to bring dignity, compassion, and respect to all of my clients. Working with populations that society has discarded, I will raise them up focusing on their strengths and goals. Together, my clients and I will work to improve their situations and get them as close as possible to where they want and need to be.

About Me:

Hi there, I’m Susan. I am a Michigander at heart, dog mom, and food lover. I have been able to touch the lives of people throughout my life through my food and create beautiful memories. I was raised to bring kindness to everyone I interact with. I can’t think of any better way to touch people’s lives with kindness than through social work. I am a born leader and take initiative daily.

As a social worker, my professional goals are:

  • To earn a Masters Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in School Social Work.
  • To earn my clinical licensure and work with school-aged children as a therapist.
  • To continue at life-long learning, attending seminars and training improving my competence in the field in order to advocate for the underprivileged.
  • To form my own opinions and advocate for policies that not only align with the social work core values but my personal values and beliefs.
  • To run for public office in the future, I plan to start with the school board, while working in the school systems. From here, I plan to run for City Council, County Commission, and then potentially Mayor.
  • To hold coworkers and myself accountable to the NASW Code of Ethics, even when it is not easy.
