As a result of this role, I seek to observe\u00a0the standards of researchers and use reliable sources of information to help the population I serve. I will engage in quantitative\u00a0and qualitative\u00a0research methods when necessary and seek to understand the true issues that the individuals, groups, or systems that I work within or with are facing. I have demonstrated in the following practice behavior through school work and practicum, my dedication to fulfilling this competency.<\/p>\n<p>Discuss critical thinking to engage in analysis\u00a0of quantitative and qualitative research methods and research findings<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Practice Behaviors<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"entry-content clearfix\">1. Use practice experience and theory to inform scientific inquiry and research.<\/p>\n<p class=\"entry-content clearfix\">2. Apply critical thinking to engage in analysis of quantitative and qualitative research methods and research findings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"entry-content clearfix\">3. Use and translate research evidence to inform and improve practice, policy, and service delivery.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Academic Evidence<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I have written a literature review that seeks to explore <a href=\"https:\/\/swpro.org\/vareladaniel\/files\/2018\/05\/How-Domestic-Abuse-Occurs-in-Male-Same-Sex-Relationships.pdf\">How Domestic Abuse Occurs in Male Same-Sex Relationships<\/a>. During this time, I had the opportunity to present the findings for Campus Research Day.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Internship Evidence<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>During my time in the Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU), I had an opportunity to conduct my first assessment without supervision. Prior to meeting with a Spanish-speaking family I referred to an <a href=\"https:\/\/swpro.org\/vareladaniel\/files\/2019\/03\/CLIENT-SYSTEM-ASSESSMENT-TOOLS-FOR-SOCIAL-WORK-PRACTICE.pdf\">assessment guide<\/a>\u00a0provided by the North American Association of Christians in Social Work Convention in 2014.
