Assess Individuals, Families, Groups, Organizations, and Communities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Social workers understand that assessment is an ongoing component of social work practice. By meeting this competency I demonstrate that I understand methods of assessment with diverse clients and constituencies to advance practice effectiveness. As a social worker I vow to be aware that my personal experiences and reactions may affect my assessment and decision-making.<\/p>\n

Practice Behaviors<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Collect and organize data, and apply critical thinking to interpret information from clients and constituencies.<\/p>\n

2. Apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment, person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks in the analysis of assessment data from clients and constituencies.<\/p>\n

3. Develop mutually agreed-on intervention goals and objectives based on the critical assessment of strengths, needs, and challenges within clients and constituencies.<\/p>\n

4. Select appropriate intervention strategies based on the assessment, research, knowledge, and values and preferences of clients and constituencies.<\/p>\n

I video recorded a \u00a015 minute interview\u00a0<\/a>completing an ecomap to assess for ACES and resilience scores with a pseudo-client. I learned how to navigate the interview process and assess client strength and limitations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
