Field: I made a list of resources of Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults (PFCA) agencies/ Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability (TCAD) programs that may be helpful for vulnerable adults at my agency.
Class: For the Human Behavior and the Social Environment II (SOCW 312) class that I took, I wrote a literature review paper on the factors of suicide among the elderly. This paper combined risk factors and theories relating to suicide among the elderly and discussed how professionals working with the elderly may be able to better assist their clients.
(3.2) Analyze models of assessment, prevention, intervention, and evaluation.
Field: I reviewed PASRR, PAE, and BIMS evaluations with the intent of gaining understanding of their use and purpose in my agency setting. These are frequently used admission and evaluation forms that I encounter during practicum.
Class: During the class, Social Work Practice with Groups and Organizations (SOCW 319), I had the opportunity to implement an educational program for a group of middle school students and complete a program evaluation presentation on its success.
(3.3) Demonstrate effective oral and written communication in working with individuals, families, groups, organizations, communities, and colleagues.
Field: I demonstrated effective oral and written communication when I gave informative presentations the quarterly volunteer trainings at my agency in November 2017 and February 2018. I presented on Civic Engagement among the elderly and the importance of the HIPAA regulations.
Class: I demonstrated effective oral and written communication during my Social Welfare in Practice (SOCW 434) class, when I had the opportunity to debate with my peers about current events in society.
