Welcome to my Social Work Portfolio. I am Kilah, a BSW candidate at Southern Adventist University. I am pursuing a bachelor’s in social work  because I have always valued knowing people and giving them the opportunity to be known. I have had the privilege to intern in many different settings-Catholic Charities in the Refugee Services Program, Denver Rescue Mission helping families and individuals experiencing homelessness, and Hearth Hospice, where I work with providing end-of-life care. I enjoy traveling, doing silks, reading/writing, meeting new people, making memories with friends and family, and learning new things.

Mission Statement

To continually extend compassion to those who have felt unseen or misunderstood, by listening to their stories, embracing their strengths, and celebrating the beauty of their differences.

Career Goals

1 year: 

• Enroll in a graduate program to earn a Masters in Social Work
• Specialization in clinical/micro social work

5 year

• Obtain a LCSW to become a licensed clinical social worker
• Work in a substance use rehabilitation center providing counseling services or specialize in bereavement counseling

10 year

• Teach social work skills as a professor or teach CEU’s (Continued Education Units)
• Become a flight attendant! (The dream is to work for Emirates)
