Darcee Christensen

Professional Overview

I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies in social work at Southern Adventist University. While completing my education, I had the opportunity to gain experience through different field practicums. I completed a 40-hour practicum at Bethel Bible Village and a 400-hour practicum in the geriatric psychiatry unit at Starr Regional Medical Center during my undergraduate studies. During my graduate studies, I completed a 425-hour practicum at Parkridge Valley Child & Adolescent.

Although I am openminded, I am interested in working in hospital settings and in positions focused on mental health. My immediate plan is to work with refugees at a high school for the next year in Rwanda. After this, I will work towards obtaining my LCSW.

In order to be able to provide effective service and prevent burnout, I will be intentional in practicing self care. For me, this looks like taking time to exercise everyday, eating nutritiously spending time with people I love, and going on outdoor adventures. The most integral part of self care for me is spending time with Jesus by praying, studying the Bible, and journaling each day.

I have provided the most recent copy of my resume.
