Great joy and meaningful purpose are found in thoughtful service of others. As an aspiring social worker and follower of God, service is a vitally important part of my life. I am thankful for the opportunities that I have had to act on others’ behalves.
I volunteered to teach English in Ukraine during June-July 2017.

Throughout teaching 36 class periods, I had many opportunities to foster learning opportunities and connect with the students. Not only was I able to practice active listening and adaptability, but I was also able to be practice embracing diversity by being immersed in a different culture.
I helped with the Salvation Army Street Store in January 16, 2017.
As an officer of the Social Work Club, I helped collect and organize donations in order to give the homeless a dignified shopping experience. On the day of the event, I assisted in organizing volunteers and interacting meaningfully with those that attended. I was especially struck with the importance of treating all people with the dignity and worth regardless of their background.
