Hello! I am a graduate student in the School of Social Work at Southern Adventist University, graduating in August 2024. I have an amazing family: my husband, two adult children, and two Vizslas.  In my free time, I love to be outdoors, reading or baking.

My undergraduate degree is in Criminal Justice, which I love. However, my favorite aspect of working with youth, as a case manager in a high-risk residential facility, was the ability to help them find their self-worth and work one-on-one with them, finding the resources needed to integrate them successfully into society. This passion for helping people continued when I became an Air Force Key Spouse, helping airmen and their families throughout their military journey, starting with moving into a new area and military base, facing a crisis, and everything in between.  During those 11 years, I realized that I wanted to help those in crisis, leading me to start the MSW program with an emphasis on Crisis and Emergency Management at Southern Adventist University.

As a social worker, my mission is to help people who have experienced or are experiencing a humanitarian crisis. I will walk beside those that have been marginalized by society, especially those unable to speak for themselves, and develop programs that mitigate or alleviate suffering before, during, or after a crisis.
