In my fall administration course, the cohort group and I completed a literature review of the different modalities to help students with mental health issues. This allowed us to explore and adapt the modalities to help students succeed academically (found on pages 15-20). The analysis of different modalities furthered my understanding from my clinical courses of how different modalities are needed to effectively treat people due to treatment needing to be tailored to the individual and their self-determination. This literature review allowed us to examine evidence-based best practices by applying self-determination theory to help understand how their internal or external locus affects them.
